Airline overview

ZIPAIR is JAL's low-cost long-haul subsidiary operating 787s between Japan and the US West Coast. Their Full Flat seat offers lie-flat business class at a fraction of legacy carrier pricing — meals, bags, and extras are à la carte.

The business class experience

Full Flat features Lie-flat 2-3-2 layout (787). Seat width is 20 inches and fully extended bed length is 76 inches — comfortable for passengers up to about 6'3" (190cm) to sleep fully flat. The seat layout on ZIPAIR's long-haul widebody aircraft typically offers direct aisle access for every business class passenger, so you never have to climb over a seatmate.

In-flight entertainment is delivered via Streaming to personal device. Dining on ZIPAIR: À la carte ordering (Japanese and Western, purchased separately). Baggage allowance in business class: 2 × 23kg (purchased add-on). All flights include amenity kits, premium bedding, and priority boarding/baggage handling.

Lounges and ground experience

At the home hub: No dedicated lounge (Priority Pass eligible). At other airports worldwide: Priority Pass or pay-per-use lounges. Lounge access is included with your business class ticket — you show your boarding pass at the lounge entrance and receive food, drinks, WiFi, and dedicated workspaces until boarding time.

On the ground at departure, ZIPAIR business class passengers get dedicated check-in counters, fast-track security lanes where available, and priority boarding. At arrival, baggage is tagged with priority labels and comes out first — typically saving 15-30 minutes versus economy on heavily-loaded flights.
