Los Angeles is the West Coast's premium-cabin capital and the gateway to the Pacific. LAX's international terminal (Tom Bradley, TBIT) is one of the best departure experiences in the US after its recent renovation — the new Qantas First Lounge, the Star Alliance Lounge, and the Delta Sky Club all make arriving early genuinely pleasant. The carrier mix at LAX skews toward long-haul: Qantas to Sydney, Singapore Airlines to Singapore, JAL and ANA to Tokyo, Korean Air and Asiana to Seoul, Emirates to Dubai, and Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong all operate daily from TBIT. This Pacific-heavy network means LAX consistently offers the best consolidator rates on transpacific business class from any US city — we see fares $200-400 below JFK on equivalent Asian routes because of the higher capacity and shorter flight times. The transatlantic side is smaller (BA, Air France, Delta, United to London and Paris primarily), but LAX-Europe fares run 10-15% below East Coast pricing on comparable routes.
