Business Class Flights to Frankfurt

Frankfurt is the Lufthansa hub, and for travelers heading anywhere in Central or Eastern Europe, that connectivity is the entire story. Lufthansa's network from Frankfurt feeds Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Warsaw, Istanbul, and almost every Eastern European capital on onward business class flights — often at through-ticket pricing that's roughly equal to the transatlantic fare alone. The 747-8 upper deck Business class is one of the most nostalgic premium experiences still operating in commercial aviation: the curved 2-2 upper deck windows and the unmistakable 747 takeoff make it worth picking specific flight numbers. The downside is Lufthansa's aging 2-2-2 Business config on the A330, which has compromised middle seats. Their new Allegris cabin (fully-flat, direct aisle access, door option) is rolling out to Munich routes first, so FRA will stay on older equipment for the next year or so. Frankfurt Airport itself is functional rather than charming — the Lufthansa First Class Terminal and the Senator Lounges are the highlights. The city is Germany's financial capital but often treated as a transit point; a stopover reveals excellent museums along the Museumsufer, a surprisingly good culinary scene, and easy day trips to the Rhine Valley wine country.
