ANA "The Room": the widest business class seat in the sky

ANA's business class product called "The Room" on the B777-300ER is genuinely remarkable. The seat is 26 inches wide in upright mode and converts to a fully flat bed that measures a staggering 33 inches wide — wider than many domestic first class seats. The closed-door suite provides excellent privacy, and the 1-2-1 configuration ensures direct aisle access for every passenger.

The Room is currently available on the JFK-HND (Haneda) route and selected European routes. We rate ANA The Room 9.5/10 — the bed comfort alone makes it worth choosing over competitors.

ANA dining and service

ANA's business class dining is inspired by Japanese kaiseki cuisine. The multi-course Japanese meal option is outstanding — featuring seasonal ingredients, beautifully plated, with a selection of premium sake and Japanese whisky. The Western menu option is also excellent, but we always recommend trying the Japanese set meal.

The crew service reflects Japanese attention to detail: proactive without being intrusive, with genuine warmth. The amenity kit features products from Japanese skincare brands and the pyjamas (on long-haul flights) are some of the most comfortable we have encountered.

ANA Lounge at Haneda (HND)

The ANA Lounge at Haneda Terminal 3 is a modern, spacious facility with stunning runway views. The lounge features a noodle bar, sushi counter, a well-stocked bar with Japanese craft beer and sake, and shower suites. The design is minimalist and calming — a perfect pre-flight environment.

For departures from JFK, ANA uses shared facilities that are less impressive, but the in-flight experience more than compensates.
