About Air Canada
A comprehensive look at Air Canada's premium cabins, service philosophy, route network, and what makes them worth flying.
Airline overview
Air Canada Signature Class offers a solid business class product with Canadian hospitality. Aeroplan is one of the most valuable frequent flyer programs for premium cabin redemptions worldwide.
The business class experience
Air Canada Signature Class features Lie-flat reverse herringbone with direct aisle access. Seat width is 21 inches and fully extended bed length is 78 inches — comfortable for passengers up to about 6'3" (190cm) to sleep fully flat. The seat layout on Air Canada's long-haul widebody aircraft typically offers direct aisle access for every business class passenger, so you never have to climb over a seatmate.
In-flight entertainment is delivered via 18-inch touchscreen. Dining on Air Canada: Canadian cuisine, BC wines, maple-inspired desserts. Baggage allowance in business class: 2 × 32kg checked. All flights include amenity kits, premium bedding, and priority boarding/baggage handling.
Lounges and ground experience
At the home hub: Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge (YYZ/YVR/YUL). At other airports worldwide: Star Alliance partner lounges worldwide. Lounge access is included with your business class ticket — you show your boarding pass at the lounge entrance and receive food, drinks, WiFi, and dedicated workspaces until boarding time.
On the ground at departure, Air Canada business class passengers get dedicated check-in counters, fast-track security lanes where available, and priority boarding. At arrival, baggage is tagged with priority labels and comes out first — typically saving 15-30 minutes versus economy on heavily-loaded flights.

Air Canada aircraft we book
Air Canada air canada signature class on each aircraft type — cabin product, seat configuration, and route examples.
- Boeing 777-300ERBoeing
The dominant long-haul widebody for the past two decades. Most carriers operate two cabin generations on this airframe: older 2-3-2 Business (avoid where possible) and newer 1-2-1 sliding-door cabins (Emirates Game Changer, BA Club Suite, Qatar Qsuite, AA Flagship Suite).
- Boeing 787-9Boeing
The most-deployed long-haul widebody in current production. Cabin pressurization (~6,000 ft) and humidity (10-15%) better than older 777 metal. Composite fuselage allows larger windows.
- Airbus A330-300Airbus
The widely-deployed older-generation A330. Cabin technology is older than 787 or A350. Many carriers operate 2-2-2 Business on A330-300 (older configurations) or 1-2-1 on newer cabin retrofits.
