IMPORTANT: Bamboo Airways is currently NOT operating scheduled commercial service. Following founder Trịnh Văn Quyết's 2022 arrest and prolonged financial distress, the fleet collapsed from a historical peak of 44 aircraft (which did include Boeing 787-9s flying London, Melbourne, Frankfurt, and Sydney) to just 3 aircraft, and as of August 2026 the airline halted ticket sales entirely — operating a single Airbus A321-200 on charter service only. Ten Boeing 787-9s remain on order but undelivered. We are not currently able to book Bamboo Airways business class for any route. If you're researching Vietnamese carriers, Vietnam Airlines is the operating full-service option with genuine long-haul widebody service — see our Vietnam Airlines page.
Booking strategy
How to book Bamboo Airways on the A321 200
Verify the actual aircraft on your flight
Aircraft type is shown on your booking confirmation but operational substitutions happen — older or newer metal sometimes replaces the scheduled aircraft. Confirm the assigned aircraft 24-48 hours before departure via the airline app or operational status page; if the substitution downgrades cabin product, we can request reseat or recompensation.
Pick the right route for this aircraft
A321 200 routes are typically shorter-haul or regional. Premium-cabin product on this aircraft tends to be a recliner or narrow-body lie-flat rather than the flagship suite — verify the seat-map before booking.
Time-of-day matters
On overnight long-haul flights, the A321 200 cabin product directly affects sleep quality. Plan for shorter rest opportunities and consider a connecting itinerary on a widebody if sleep is critical. Departure-time selection (avoiding 4-6am arrivals) compounds the cabin investment.
Loyalty earning
All consolidator fares are regular Bamboo Airways tickets booked under your name — you earn full Bamboo Club miles, status credits, and elite-tier benefits. Business class typically earns 100-125% of distance flown.
