FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How does the booking window recommendation work?
We classify each destination region × month combination as peak, shoulder, or low season based on demand patterns we see across our consolidator contracts. Peak season needs 12-16 weeks advance booking, shoulder 8-10 weeks, and low season 4-8 weeks.
Why is booking further ahead not always better?
Airlines open premium cabin inventory on a rolling basis. Booking more than 6 months ahead rarely unlocks better pricing because inventory hasn’t been fully released yet. Booking inside 14 days of departure is almost always more expensive because last-minute fares are priced for corporate buyers.
What if I have flexible dates?
Flexibility is worth 15-30% on most routes. Tuesday and Wednesday departures consistently beat Monday and Friday by $200-500. Red-eye departures are typically cheaper than midday. If you can shift your travel window by a few days, mention that when requesting a quote.
How accurate are these predictions?
The booking window is a general rule based on observed patterns. Individual routes have their own quirks — holiday cutoffs, airline sales, mistake fares. For a specific route, contact us for exact advice: we see live inventory and can tell you if you should book today or wait two weeks.
