Dine on Demand
Definition: Dine on demand is a business or first class meal service where passengers choose when to eat during the flight rather than following the cabin’s fixed meal schedule, offering restaurant-style flexibility.
Traditional airline meal service follows a set schedule: dinner shortly after takeoff and breakfast before landing on overnight flights. Dine on demand allows premium cabin passengers to order from the menu at any time during the flight that suits them.
This service is particularly valued on long-haul flights where passengers may be on different time zones or have different sleep schedules. Instead of being woken for a meal service, you can eat when you’re hungry and sleep when you’re tired.
Airlines offering dine on demand in business class include Emirates, Etihad, United (on select routes), and several others. The service typically includes a full multi-course meal with appetiser, main course, cheese, and dessert, served with premium wines and champagne whenever the passenger requests it.
