Economy plus seats are standard economy seats located in rows with more pitch (the distance between seats). They typically offer 4–6 inches of extra legroom compared to standard economy. The product goes by various names: Economy Plus (United), Economy Comfort (Delta/KLM), Main Plus (American), or World Traveller Plus (British Airways has a different definition as a true premium economy).
Unlike premium economy, economy plus does not include wider seats, upgraded meals, or a separate cabin. The meal service, entertainment, and baggage allowance remain identical to standard economy. The primary benefit is additional space to stretch your legs.
Economy plus seats can be purchased at booking or selected using frequent flyer status. For long-haul travel, many travellers find the price gap between economy plus and a consolidator business class fare surprisingly small.
